The Washington, DC Metro Chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) invites you to a panel discussion on the subject of women in academia.  The panel will feature women in academic positions representing a range of career stages, diverse science and engineering disciplines and several academic institutions.   Topics to be discussed include:

  • Mentoring and networking
  • Communication strategies
  • Negotiation
  • Career progression and family responsibility
  • Teaching and mentoring students
  • Communicating your research
  • Non-traditional career paths
  • Dual career issues
  • Navigating the tenure track
