The Washington, DC Metro Chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) invites you to a panel discussion on the subject of women in academia. The panel will feature women in academic positions representing a range of career stages, diverse science and engineering disciplines and several academic institutions. Topics to be discussed include:
- Mentoring and networking
- Communication strategies
- Negotiation
- Career progression and family responsibility
- Teaching and mentoring students
- Communicating your research
- Non-traditional career paths
- Dual career issues
- Navigating the tenure track
