The below training event is for Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students.
The NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education, in collaboration with NCI-Frederick, is helping to develop more opportunities for those trainees interested in teaching and careers at smaller Colleges and Universities. One of the training events that we are developing are site visits to several small universities and colleges in the area. The purpose of these visits is to give trainees a chance to see what life as a faculty member at a small college is like and to explore the teaching and research prospects/expectations. These visits would entail meeting with faculty and touring the campuses and classrooms.
The visits to Hood College and Towson University were overwhelming successes. We would like to continue this training opportunity by announcing that a third campus visit has been scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2008 at the George Washington University Ashburn VA Campus. Please click on the link below to register for this event. Space is limited and will be allotted on a first come first serve basis, so only register if you DEFINITELY plan on participating. Once the maximum number of spots has been met subsequent entries in the registration will be labeled as wait listed. You will be notified by email whether you are a registered participant or if you are on the wait list. Wait listed trainees will be added to the event as spaces become available in the order in which they signed on.

A detailed agenda of the event will be sent out when it becomes available. Registrants should factor into their decision that the event will probably last until mid to late afternoon of that day. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.
