Workshop: Making the Move to Academia (This is the sixth session in the Academic Job Search track <http://www.training.nih.gov/trainees/toolkit/academia.asp> .)
Description: Congratulations, you've accepted the job! In this workshop learn what you need to know about navigating the academic environment in your future department. You'll learn important points to consider when deciding what equipment you need to set up your lab, how to find the best people to work in your lab, and how to develop and motivate your research team. Also, learn about other expectations of a junior faculty member. Topics include: What to expect Setting up your lab Defining your goals and responsibilities Finding/hiring research assistants Lab management and leadership
