Workshop: Grant Writing 101 <http://www.training.nih.gov/trainees/> – Session II, April 3
Most scientists who write grants agree that the planning, writing, submission (and resubmission) process can be challenging. However, all agree that the more you understand about the process, the easier it is.
Session II:
• NIH grant application components
• Writing effective training plans (for K Awards).
• Project Development
• Strategies for re-submission
This workshop is intended to provide the background you will need to begin crafting a grant application; it will not involve written assignments or feedback on drafts of your application. Many ICs offer grant writing programs that provide this service. We appreciate that these programs are not available to fellows in all ICs, and at the conclusion of this workshop we will assess the need to organize a similar program.
The workshop will also be presented in Baltimore (Spring 2009) and Frederick (August 2009). NIEHS fellows should contact Diane Klotz in the OFCD for information on NIEHS grant writing workshops. We are committed to bringing the workshop back to RML as appropriate.
