Workshop: Writing a Thesis Proposal

Description: Are you a Ph.D. Student getting ready to write your dissertation proposal? If you are asking yourself these questions; "Where do I start?"; "How much background do I put in?"; "How many specific aims should I include?"; "Do I need preliminary data?"; and “What is my committee really looking for?”, then you are probably wondering what it takes to write a good thesis proposal. In this workshop, Dr. Sharon Milgram, who has over 15 years mentoring graduate students, will discuss the dos and don'ts of writing a great research proposal. The target audience is graduate students who are preparing their dissertation proposals or postbacs who will be attending graduate school in the fall.

Speaker: Sharon Milgram, Director of the Office of Intramural Training & Education

Date/Time/Location: August 4, 2009, 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Natcher Conference Center, conference room E1/E2, Bethesda Campus
