NIH Office of Intramural Training & Education: Scientists Teaching Science Are you interested in learning the basics of successful teaching? Are you thinking about a career in education? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, consider signing up for the OITE workshop, "Scientists Teaching Science: An Introduction to Best Practices in Science Education." The workshop will provide an introduction to learning styles, teaching philosophies, and course development for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. This workshop is a prerequisite for admission to the in-depth pedagogy course that is offered by the OITE in the spring. This month Scientist Teaching Science will be offered for one session on the Bethesda Campus and for one session at the Baltimore Campus for trainees in the Baltimore duty station area. This workshop is in high demand and there is a possibility that you may receive a wait list notification. This workshop will be offered on the Bethesda and Frederick campuses in January. Registration for those offerings will open approximately 1 month before the courses begin. |
