Career Development

Pathways Conversation

We are currently looking for speakers for our Pathways series, especially those who have chosen a non-traditional career path.  If you have any ideas please contact GSCpathways@od.nih.gov .

This series is intended to provide NIH graduate students the opportunity to meet and converse with outstanding scientists from diverse backgrounds (e.g. NIH, academia, pharmaceuticals, biotech) as well as your fellow NIH grad student peers over an informal lunch. Through interactions with these scientists, we hope NIH graduate students will be able to better assess which, if any, of the career paths and/or scientific fields represented during the series best matches their interests/skills and how best to pursue these careers following their training at the NIH.  Pathway Conversations are often held the first Friday of each month but may vary based on speaker's schedules.

Check the calendar for upcoming speakers.  Please email GSCpathways@od.nih.gov if you have suggestions for Pathways topics to address, speakers to invite, or would like a summary of a past pathways event.

Science Policy: Julia Warner, Ph.D. and Joyce Puser, Ph.D., legislative assistants for congressmen
